Nóta ón mBord – 30/6/2015

A thuismitheoirí, a chairde,

Reáchtáil an Bord cruinniú do thuismitheoirí sásta cuidiú leis an bhfeachtas stocaireachta chun a chinntiú go gcuirfear Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré ar an gcéad liosta tógála scoile eile. Tá an liosta le foilsiú sna míonna amach romhainn ach cinnte roimh an chéad Olltoghchán eile.

Iarraimid go leanfaidh tuismitheoirí leis an stocaireacht ar na hionadaithe náisiúnta i rith an tsamhraidh ach cuairt a thabhairt freisin ar na clinicí más féidir (is féidir cuairteanna den sórt a eagrú trí ghlaoch ar na polaiteoirí chun coinne a dhéanamh). Tá ár gcuspóir simplí agus an teachtaireacht dona polaiteoirí freisin – is mian linn a chinntiú go mbeidh an Ghaelscoil san áireamh, le stádas tosaíochta, ar an gcéad liosta tógála eile.

Beidh an scoil ag ceiliúradh 20 bliain ag fás i 2016. Tá sé beartaithe againn imeachtaí áirithe a eagrú i rith na scoilbhliana. Moladh amháin a tháinig ón gcruinniú na imeacht shóisialta ag tús na scoilbhliana. Bheadh cuireadh tughta do na daltaí reatha agus iardhaltaí , mar aon lena dteaghlaigh agus a gcairde, agus do pholaiteoirí. Chomh maith leis an taobh sóisialta agus cheiliúrtha, bheadh sé mar chuspóir againn a léiriú do na hiarrthóirí Olltoghchán go háirithe neart vótála phobal na scoile. Tuilleadh sonraí sna seachtainí atá romhainn.

Ár mbuíochas le gach duine a bhí i dteagmháil le ionadaithe náisiúnta go dtí seo. Bheimis buíoch dá bhféadfá cóipeanna d’aon freagraí a fuarthas a chuir chugainn. Míle buíochas as ucht do thacaíocht leanúnach.

The Board recently held a meeting for parents willing to assist in the lobbying campaign to ensure the inclusion of Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré in the next major school building project list. This list is due to be published in the coming months and certainly before the next General Election.

We ask that parents continue to lobby the national representatives during the summer but to also visit clinics if possible (such visits are best organised by ringing the politicians to make an appointment). Our goal is simple and the message to politicians is also – we wish to ensure that the Gaelscoil is included on the next building list with priority status.

The school will celebrate 20 years in 2016. We intend to run a certain number of events throughout the school year. One suggestion to come from the meeting was for a social event at the beginning of the school year to which all past and present pupils, their families and friends and the politicians would be invited. As well as the social and celebratory nature of the event, the purpose of this gathering would be to demonstrate to the General Election candidates in particular the voting strength of the extended school community, past and present.  More details in the coming weeks.

Our thanks to all those who have contacted the national representatives to date. We would be grateful if you could forward copies of any replies received to the school. Many thanks for your continued support.

Is mise, le meas,

Bartley Ó Gabháin, Cathaoirleach
