Scoil Nua!

Fearann Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré fíorchaoin fáilte roimh an nuacht go bhfuil an scoil san áireamh ar an gClár Infheistíochta Caipitil Scoileanna 2016-2021. Tá feachtas leanúnach ar bun ag an mBord, an fhoireann, cumann na dtuismitheoirí (Cairde) agus pobal na scoile i gcoitinne lena chinntiú go mbeadh tiomantas déanta maidir le foirgneamh buan a sholáthar don scoil.

Bunaíodh Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré i 1996. Sna blianta tosaigh bhí sí lonnaithe sa Halla Preispitéireach. Aistríodh í go clubtheach Naomh Muire i mBaile Uí Dhúgáin i 1998 agus tá sí ag feidhmiú ón láthair sin ó shin. Níl an socrú reatha, bunaithe cuid mhór ar sheomraí ranga réamhdhéanta, in ann freastal a thuilleadh ar riachtanais na scoile mar a sheasann sí inniu, scoil le 247 daltaí agus 17 baill foirne inti.

Is mian leis an mBord Bainistíochta buíochas mór a ghabháil le gach duine a chuidigh leis an bhfeachtas maidir le scoil nua, lena n-áirítear baill reatha agus iarbhaill an Bhoird agus na foirne, Cairde, tuismitheoirí aonair agus na hionadaithe poiblí.

Tugaimid faoi deara go soláthraíonn an phlean don scoil tús a chur leis an dtógáil i 2019. Tá an Bord ag tnúth le bheith ag comhoibriú leis an Roinn chun an tiomantas seo a chur i gcrích. Toisc méid na scoile inniu agus an fás leanúnach, beidh sé riachtanach freisin aghaidh a thabhairt ar socruithe eatramhacha agus soláthar scoile idir seo agus sin. Ardóidh an Bord an cheist seo leis an Roinn agus beimid ag lorg seachadadh níos luaithe faoin bplean i ngeall ar na heasnaimh móra sa chóiríocht reatha.

Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré is delighted to learn that it is included on the Schools Capital Investment Programme 2016-2021. The Board, staff, Cairde the parents association and the general school community have been conducting a campaign to ensure a commitment is made to the provision of a permanent building for the school.

Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré was established in 1996. In its early years it was based at the Presbyterian Hall. It moved to the Saint Mary’s clubhouse in Ballydoogan in 1998 from where it has functioned since. The current arrangement, based largely on prefabricated classrooms, is no longer capable of meeting the needs of the school which today comprises of 247 pupils and 17 staff.

The Board of Management wishes to express its deep gratitude to all who have assisted in its campaign for a new school including past and current Board members and staff, Cairde, individual parents and public representatives.

We note the plan provides for the school to go to construction in 2019. The Board looks forward to working with the Department to bring this commitment to fruition. Given the size of the school today and its continuous expansion it will be necessary also to address interim arrangements and school provision between now and then. The Board will take up this matter with the Department and will also push for earlier delivery under the plan given the major deficiencies of its present facilities.
