Fáilte romhaibh ar ais! Fáilte Speisialta roimh na páistí nua a thosaigh ar scoil agus roimh ár múinteoir nua, Liz Nic Searraigh, agus le Múinteoir Gráinne agus Múinteoir Jade atá ar ais linn i mbliana. Welcome back! Gaeilge/Irish:
Beidh na múinteoirí ag cur béim faoi leith ar labhairt na Gaeilge i gcónaí agus tá súil againn go spreagfaidh tuismitheoirí na páistí agus an Ghaeilge atá acu féin a úsáid leo ó am go ham. Beidh Ranganna Gaeilge do thuismitheoirí ag tosú go luath. We are putting special emphasis on spoken Irish in the school and we hope that parents will encourage their children and use whatever Irish they have themselves with them from time to time. Irish classes for parents will start soon. More details later.
Corp Oideachais/P.E.:
Beidh Corp Oideachais ar siúl ar an Céadaoin agus ar an Aoine. Is ar na laethanta seo amháin a bheidh an culaith reatha ceadaithe. P.E will take place on Wednesday and Friday each week. These are the only days that the tracksuit should be worn.
OBAIR BHAILE/HOMEWORK:
Tá sé fíorthabhachtach go ndéanann tuismitheoirí obair bhaile a bpáistí a sheiceáil gach oíche agus an Dialann Scoile a shíniú. It is important that parents check their children’s homework each evening and sign the Dialann Scoile/Diary.
TINREAMH agus PONCÚLACHT/ATTENDANCE and PUNCTUALITY:
Tosaíonn an scoil ag 8.50. Tá sé tábhachtach go mbeidh na páistí istigh faoin am seo. Freisin, ba chóir go mbeadh páistí bailithe in am tráthnóna.Má bhíonn do pháiste as láthair, cuir scéal nó nóta chuig an scoil le bhur dtoil. School starts at 8.50. It is important that the children are in by that time, Also, children should be collected on time in the afternoon. If your child is absent, please contact the school and/or send in a note.

Ar mhaithe le hÁrachas, is gá go ndéanfar aon pháiste a bhíonn bailithe i rith uaireanta scoile a shíniú amach. Tá an leabar chuige seo ar fáil san oifig. Ní féidir aon eisceacht a dhéanamh. Ní gá iad a shíniú isteach arís ná i gcás páiste atá déanach is leor nóta ná glaoch gutháin. For Insurance reasons, any child collected from school within school hours MUST be signed out. A book for this purpose is held in the office. No exceptions please. There is no necessity to sign the child back in to school if they are returning from an appointment or if they are coming in late. A note/phone call to explain delay is sufficient.

If you have not already done so, please forward your email address(es) to the school (an e-mail to scoil@cnocnare.net with your name/child’s name in the subject line will suffice). Parents without e-mail will continue to receive paper versions but you must let Muireann in the office know if you want a hard copy. Please also check your “spam” folder, as your security systems may not recognise the school address.

Tá sé fíor-thábhachtach go mbíonn uimhir teagmhála tuistí againn do gach páiste sa scoil. It would be greatly appreciated if any forms to be signed, money for various events, or permission slips are returned to the school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, or by date specified on the note, to allow for effective administration. Also, if you are sending money into the school, PLEASE ensure it is in an envelope! With almost 250 pupils now in the school, and growing, it is impossible to keep track of children handing money in without an envelope, at any time of year. If you have misplaced or run out of your yellow school envelopes, send €3.50 in with your child and a packet will be sent home with them. Alternatively, you can recycle any envelope from home. It is imperative that the school has a contact number of a parent/guardian for each child, which is accessible at all times. If you have changed/updated any of your contact details, please let Muireann in the school office know immediately, thank you.
Leabhair Scoile/School Books & PPAI/Insurance:
Tá airgead leabhair scoile nach bhfuil íochta fós thar téarma faoi láthair – tá sé le n-íoc anois le bhur dtoil. Iarraimid oraibh go gclúdófar na leabhair ar chíos le contact. Mairfidh siad níos faide dá bharr, rud a choinneoidh costas na leabhar íseal. Freisin, ní féidir glacadh le hiarratais don scéim árachais (PPAI) i ndiaidh an Aoine seo (11 Meán Fómhair). All money for school books is now overdue. Please pay in school office immediately. Also, last chance for inclusion in Insurance PPAI scheme, is this week. FORMS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS FRIDAY 11th SEPTEMBER. Thank you.

Faraor, tá míolta gruaige fairsing go leor i ngach scoil, go háirithe ag an am seo den bhliain. Tá curtha in iúl go bhfuil cás sa scoil agus bheimis buíoch go ndéanfaidh sibh scrudú ar ghruaig do chuid páiste INNIU. Iarraimid oraibh seiceáil go minic agus oifig na scoile a chur ar an eolas más gá. Unfortunately Headlice are a fact of life in all schools, particularly at this time of year. We have been notified of a few current cases in the school and would appreciate if you check your child (rens) head TODAY and treat accordingly over the weekend if applicable. We rely on the vigilance of parents to ensure outbreaks are kept to a minimum, but we need ALL parents to carry out intermittent checks and please advise the school office if necessary, otherwise the problem will continue unabated . Thank you.
Ainmneacha ar Éadaí/ Names on clothes:
Tá sé fíor-thábhachtach go mbíonn ainmeacha na bpáistí, ach go háirithe na páistí sna bunranganna, go soiléir ar éadaí scoile, leabhair agus rudaí pearsanta. Please ensure that your child’s name is clearly marked on each item of clothing, books, personal belongings etc. This applies particularly to children in junior classes. The school cannot be held responsible for lost items.
CÚNTÓIR RANGA:
Beidh seirbhís feidhlíochta ar fáil ó 1.30 do pháistí a úsáideann an seirbhís bus ag 2.30. Más maith leat an seirbhís seo a úsáid cuir scéal chugainn – seolfar sonraí chucu siúd a léiríonn suim. Tá costas beag le níoc le seo a fháil. Tá seans ann go mbeidh spás ina dhiaidh sin do naíonáin le deartháir/deirfiúr níos sinne sa scoil nach dtéann abhaile ar an mbus. An After Care Service will be provided from 1.30pm for children in infant classes travelling home on the bus service at 2.30pm. If you wish to avail of the “Cúntóir Ranga” service, please let Muireann or Mícheál know as soon as possible. There will be a weekly charge for this service as last year, and priority must be given to children waiting for the bus. There may also be space for infants with older brothers/sisters in the school who do not use the bus, and if so, notification will go out. Please note: The service is NOT available to children in Junior classes who are not waiting for a bus, or do not have an older sibling in the school.
MEABHRÁN: POLASAÍ AN LÓIN SLÁINTIÚIL:

Beimid buíoch as tacaíocht na dtuismitheoirí an polasaí seo a chur chun cinn. We do our best as a school community to promote healthy lunches in Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré and wish to remind parents that there is a healthy lunch policy in place in the school. We urge parents to encourage children to eat healthily and not to give children the following items to eat or drink, just during the few hours they are in school, as it is unfair for children to watch others who are not complying with the policy.
- Fizzy Drinks
- Chocolate spread on sandwiches (NB: Children attending school with Nut Allergies)
- Crisps and other such foil/plastic bag snack food (eg. biscuit bags or snack packs). Plain popcorn is permitted.
- Sweets of any description, Chocolate bars, cake, biscuits etc. Crackers are permitted.
In the interest of fairness for all, the co-operation of parents in this matter is expected & much appreciated.

Déan cinnte go bhfuil do fhoirmeacha líonta amach agus curtha ar ais chuig oifig na scoile má tá páiste(í) agat le clárú i 2016/2017/2018/2019 nó 2020! Freisin, má tá aithne agat ar éinne go bhfuil suim acu a bpáiste a chlárú, abair leo glaoch a chur ar an scoil, chomh luath agus is féidir, mar tá na liostaí ag fás an t-am ar fad. Can you please ensure that you have completed and returned to the office your own Pre-Enrolment form if YOU have a child/children to be enrolled in the years 2016/2017/2018/2019 nó 2020! Forms are available in the office, please ring to have one sent home with your child already in the school. If you know anyone else interested in enrolling their child, please ask them to contact the school as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as lists are increasing rapidly.
Junior Infants /Naíonáin Shóisir
Meabhráin/Reminders:
- Tá eolas ag dul abhaile inniu le do pháiste i gcóir an HSE. Your child is taking home with them information from the HSE with regard to Vaccines. Information and forms with regard to Vision, Hearing and Growth checks carried out in all primary schools will be distributed soon too. Please return the completed forms as soon as possible, thank you.
- Muna bhfuil sé déanta agaibh fós, an féidir libh Teastais Breithe agus Báiste (má bhaineann) a chur chuig an oifig chomh luath agus is féidir, go raibh maith agaibh. Can parents who have not done so already, please submit copies of your child’s Birth and Baptismal Certificates (if applicable) to the school office.
- Rachaidh na Naíonáin abhaile ag 1.30i.n ón Luan seo 14ú Meán Fómhair. Déanaigí cinnte go bhfuil lón dóthanach acu gach lá. Ba mhaith linn meabhrán a thabhairt daoibh arís gur lón sláintiúl ata mar pholasaí na scoile seo. Níl brioscaí, baranna, seacláid, cácaí, criospaí ná milseáin ceadaithe. Mar go bhfuil páistí sa scoil atá ailéirgeach go cnónna, níl ceapairí le taos seacláide ceadaithe ach oiread. Children from Junior Infants will go home from 1.30pm from next Monday 14th September. Please ensure they have adequate food and drink for both breaks, and a reminder that there is a healthy lunch policy in this school – NO cakes, chocolate, biscuits, bars, crisps or sweets of any description. As there are children in the school with nut allergies, chocolate spread on sandwiches is forbidden as are foods with any nut products.
