AM AR SCOIL/TIME IN SCHOOL
Tabhair faoi deara go tosnaíonn scoil ag 8.50r.n. agus go bhfuil sé tábhachtach go mbeidh na páistí istigh faoin am seo. É sin ráite, ní chóir go mbeadh páistí fágtha ar scoil roimh 8.40 r.n., ní bhíonn aon mhúinteoir ar dualgas roimhe seo. Freisin, ba chóir go mbeadh páistí bailithe in am tráthnóna (1.30/2.30) Má bhíonn do pháiste as láthair, cuir scéal nó nóta chuig an scoil le bhur dtoil.
Please note that school starts at 8.50 am. It is important that the children are in by that time. However, children should not be left to school before 8.40am, as there is no supervision before this time. Children should also be collected on time in the afternoon (1.30/2.30) If your child is absent, please contact the school and/or send in a note.

N.B. TABHAIR FAOI DEARA / PLEASE NOTE:
Páistí ag fágáil na scoile/Children leaving school premises during school day
Ar mhaithe le hÁrachas, is gá go ndéanfar aon pháiste a bhíonn bailithe i rith uaireanta scoile a shíniú amach. Tá an leabar chuige seo ar fáil san oifig. Ní féidir aon eisceacht a dhéanamh. Ní gá iad a shíniú isteach arís ná i gcás páiste atá déanach is leor nóta ná glaoch gutháin.
For Insurance reasons, any child collected from school within school hours MUST be signed out. A book for this purpose is held in the office.  No exceptions please.  There is no necessity to sign the child back in to school if they are returning from an appointment or if they are coming in late.  A note/phone call to explain delay is sufficient.

NB _-Míolta Gruaige/Head Lice:
Faraor, tá míolta gruaige fairsing go leor i ngach scoil, go háirithe ag an am seo den bhliain.  Tá curtha in iúl go bhfuil cás sa scoil agus bheimis buíoch go ndéanfaidh sibh scrudú ar ghruaig do chuid páiste INNIU.  Iarraimid oraibh seiceáil go minic agus oifig na scoile a chur ar an eolas más gá.
Unfortunately Headlice are a fact of life in all schools, particularly at this time of year.  We have been notified of a few current cases in the school and would appreciate if you check your child (rens) head TODAY and treat accordingly please if applicable.   We rely on the vigilance of parents to ensure outbreaks are kept to a minimum, but and need ALL parents to carry out intermittent checks and please advise the school office if necessary, otherwise the problem will continue unabated . Thank you.

PUNC1x1 (Pop Up Niland Collection)
Táimid ar cheann de 10 scoil a bheidh rannpháirteach i gclár nua á reáchtáil ag An Model ina mbeimid ag taispeáint deich píosaí ealaíne ón mBailiúchán Niland sa scoil i rith na bliana. Tá spás ullmhaithe chuige seo thíos staighre ós comhair an phríomhdhoras. Gheobhaimid píosa amháin ealaíne gach mí.  Tháinig Imelda Ryan-Jones agus Marie-Louise Blayney ón Model isteach le hiris pearsanta do gach dalta. An aidhm atá ann ná go mbeidh na páistí ag baint úsáid as na irisí i rith na bliana chun a gcuid smaointe cruthaitheacha pearsanta féin agus smaointe a thaifeadadh maidir leis na deich saothar ealaíne;  am a chaitheamh ag féachaint ar gach píosa agus ag smaoineamh go domhain chun teacht ar thuiscint ar bhrí agus teachtaireacht gach ealaíontóir;  ag breathnú ar an dath, foirm, líne, cruth, uigeacht agus ton de gach píosa chun cabhrú leo níos mó a fháil amach faoi gach saothar ealaíne. (Breathnú agus Freagairt  ón gCuraclam Amharcealaíona)
Our school is delighted to announce that we have been chosen to participate in a new exciting school community outreach programme run by The Model; home of The Niland Collection.  We are one of ten schools throughout the County of Sligo who are piloting this new programme and we will exhibit nine pieces of art from The Niland Collection in our school throughout this academic year. This new programme is called PUNC 1×1.  PUNC is an acronym for Pop Up Niland Collection, and 1×1 refers to the slow rhythm of the exhibition as our school will receive one piece of art at a time.  The first piece of art was installed on 26th  September and the children enjoyed a classroom visit from staff at The Model, Imelda Ryan-Jones and Marie-Louise Blaney, who introduced them to the new programme.  Each pupil was given their own personal journal, kindly supported by a local business ‘Sligo Supply Centre’.  Pupils will use these journals throughout the year to record their own personal creative thoughts and ideas as they engage with all nine artworks.  Pupils will be encouraged to verbally respond to each art work, as well as to spend time looking at each piece and thinking deeply as they try to understand the meaning and message each artist wants to share.  Looking at the colour, form, line, shape, texture and tone of each piece will help them to discover more about each artwork.
