Ní féidir glacadh le ordú i ndiaidh an dáta sin! / If you are interested in purchasing the Christmas Annual this year (Súgradh, Spraoi, Siamsa or Sonas), please send money (€4 with Name & Class clearly marked please) into the school by Friday 10th December to facilitate orders, and put “ANNUAL” or “FOLENS” on the envelope. NB: No orders will be taken after this date! Annuals will be distributed from Thursday 16th December.

Beidh Cártaí Nollaig arís á dhíol i mbliana (5 chárta ar €5) mar mhodh tiomsú airigid do fhearais spóirt agus corp oideachais. Eagróidh CAIRDE (Cumann na dTuismitheoirí) crannchur Nollaig fresin chuige seo./We are selling Christmas Cards this year (5 for €5) as a fundraiser for sports and P.E. equipment. CAIRDE (the Parents’ Association) will also be organising a raffle to complement this.
LAETHANTA SAOIRE/HOLIDAYS
Mar a sheasann cúrsaí, beidh an scoil ag dúnadh ar an gCéadaoin 22ú Nollaig ag 12:00 do laethanta saoire na Nollag agus osclóidh sí arís ar an Déardaoin 6ú Eanáir 2022 ag 8:40r.n. / As of now, school will close on Wednesday 22nd December at 12 noon for the Christmas Holidays and will re-open on Thursday 6th January 2022 at 8.40am.

Le linn drochaimsir, tá na nósanna imeachta seo a leanas i bhfeidhm i nGaelscoil Chnoc na Ré:
1. Déanfaimid gach iarracht an scoil a choinneáil ar oscailt, chomh fada agus is féidir linn na páistí a fháil go foirgneamh na scoile go sábháilte, maraon le dóthain foirne, teas agus solas a bheith againn.
2. Glac leis go bhfuil an scoil ar oscailt mura gcuirtear téacs chugat ag cur in iúl duit go bhfuil sí dúnta. Cuirfear téacsanna maidir le dúnadh na scoile a luaithe agus is féidir chun deis a thabhairt duit socruithe eile a dhéanamh. I go leor cásanna, tá seans ann nach bhféadfaí téacs a sheoladh maidir le dúnadh go dtí an mhaidin sin. Tá sé an-deacair cinntí maidir le dúnadh scoile a dhéanamh. Is féidir le coinníollacha dul in olcas go tapa agus dá bhrí sin bíonn an seans ann i gcónaí nach féidir cinntí maidir le dúnadh a dhéanamh go dtí an mhaidin sin. Iarrfaimid foighne uaibh i gcásanna mar sin. Déanfar gach cinneadh le hintinn mhaith. Déanfar dúnadh scoile éigeandála a chur in iúl ar Ocean FM freisin.
3.Ar laethanta a bhíonn an scoil ar oscailt, ba cheart do thuismitheoirí a gcinneadh féin a dhéanamh faoi an féidir leo a gcuid leanaí a fháil go sábháilte chuig agus ón scoil. Déanfaimid iarracht bealach sábháilte a sholáthar ón ngeata tosaigh go foirgneamh na scoile ar laethanta den sórt sin. Uaireanta beidh sé riachtanach an carrchlós a dhúnadh nó a theorannú.
4.Ar mhaidin seacmhar, tabhair aire ar fud na scoile. Is féidir an cosáin agus an carrchlós ach go háirithe a bheith sleamhan agus baolach dá bharr.
5. Má úsáideann do leanbh an bus, iarraimid go dtabharfaidh tú do shonraí teagmhála don tiománaí ionas go mbeidh siad in ann dul i dteagmháil leat más gá. Ní féidir leis an scoil a bheith freagrach as cinntí arna ndéanamh ag cuideachtaí nó tiománaithe bus gan taisteal a dhéanamh i ndrochaimsir. Téann an téacs céanna a théann chuig tuismitheoirí i gcás dúnadh scoile chuig na cuideachtaí bus. Ní bhíonn seirbhísí bus scoile (Bus Éireann) ar fáil le linn Rabhadh Dearg aimsire a bheith fógraithe sa cheantar.
During extreme weather conditions, the following procedures apply in Gaelscoil Chnoc na Ré:
1. We will attempt to keep the school open as long as we can safely get the children into the school buildings and that we have sufficient staff, heat and light.
2. Please assume that the school will open unless you are notified by text that it is closed. Texts regarding a closure will be sent at the earliest possible opportunity to allow you to make alternative arrangements. In many cases, it may not be possible to send a text regarding closure until that morning. Decisions in relation to school closures are very difficult to make. Conditions can deteriorate rapidly and therefore decisions regarding closures can often only be made that morning. We therefore ask for your patience on such occasions. All decisions will be made in good faith. Emergency school closures will also be communicated through Ocean FM.
3. On days when the school is open, parents should exercise their own judgement on whether they can get their children safely to and from school. We will attempt to provide a safe pathway from the front gate to the school building on such days. It may be necessary to close or limit access to the carpark.
4. On frosty mornings, please exercise extreme caution around the school. Footpaths and the carpark are particularly prone to ice.
5. If your child takes the bus, we ask that you give your contact details to the company/driver involved so that you are contactable by them. The school cannot be responsible for decisions made by individual bus companies or drivers as to whether they will travel in inclement weather. The same text that goes to parents in the event of school closure will go to the bus companies. Please note also that school buses (Bus Éireann) will not run in the event of any Status Red weather warning.
