There will be a GREEN DAY and practise for the parade in school tomorrow. The children will have the opportunity to dress in green clothes etc. (they do not need to bring parade costumes, however, which are explained below)
Is í an Bhanríon Méabh téama pharáid na bliana seo. Táimid ag spreagadh na páistí agus sibhse na dtuismitheoirí gléasadh mar laochra. Ár moltaí, ná léinte ceangailte le rópa (cóta faoi). Má tá blaincéad agat le húsáid mar rinn (cape). Beidh bannaí ar fail ar an lá le dathanna na Gaelscoile. (Déanfaimid iarracht cloí leis an téama seachas na dathanna Naomh Pádraig agus Éire más féidir)
The theme of this year’s parade is Queen Maebh. We are encouraging both parents and children to dress as her warriors. Our suggestions are oversized shirts (over your child’s jacket) tied with a rope and an old sheet/blanket to use as a cape. We have made shields and spears. We will provide headbands using the colours of the Gaelscoil. We will try to keep to the theme rather than the typical St. Patrick’s and Ireland colours. Parents who attend can help with face painting beforehand also. GRMA!
