Hi a chairde
Tá súil agam go bhfuil gach duine go maith.
Tá dúshlán ar leith romhainn le cúpla mí anuas agus ba mhaith liom buíochas a ghabháil leis an bhfoireann, leis na tuismitheoirí agus ar ndóigh leis na daltaí as a gcomhoibriú iontach ag an am éiginnte seo. Leanann an téarma scoile ar aghaidh ar feadh na 5 seachtaine amach romhainn agus tuigimid go bhfuil méid áirithe tuirse agus leadrán ag dul i bhfeidhm ar go leor teaghlaigh. Chuir an Roinn in iúl go bhfuil leanúnachas na foghlama le coinneáil go dtí deireadh mhí an Mheithimh. Cuirfidh pleanáil foirne do na seachtainí atá fágtha é seo agus cúinsí eile san áireamh agus beidh béim níos láidre ar ghníomhaíochtaí spraoi agus teaghlaigh maraon le méid áirithe oibre sna croí-ábhair. Go traidisiúnta is é Meitheamh an t-am freisin nuair a bhíonn Turais agus Lá Spóirt ar siúl agus táimid ag féachaint le soláthar a dhéanamh dóibh ar bhealach fíorúil i mbliana. Cuimhnigh, tá sláinte agus folláine gach dalta thar a bheith tábhachtach – is féidir aghaidh a thabhairt ar na réimsí acadúla níos iomláine nuair a fhilleann gach duine ar scoil.
I hope all is well in your house!
The last few months have been particularly challenging for everybody and I want to thank staff, parents and of course the pupils for their tremendous co-operation in these uncertain times. The school term continues for the next 5 weeks and we appreciate that there is a certain amount of fatigue and monotony affecting many, if not all, households. The Department have indicated that continuity of learning is to be maintained until the end of June. Staff planning for the remaining weeks will take this and other factors into account with a stronger emphasis on fun and whole family activities allied to a certain amount of work in the core subjects. June is traditionally the time also when Tours and Sports Day take place and we are looking at providing for them in a virtual way this year. Remember, the health and wellbeing of every pupil is paramount – the academic areas can be addressed more fully when children return to school.
Gníomhíochta Foghlama/Learning Activities
Tá an obair scoile molta do gach rang ar fáil anois ar ALADDIN CONNECT faoin rannóg OBAIR BHAILE agus ar an suíomh idirlín ag http://ww2.cnocnare.net/fsb20aib/. Agus sibh ag seoladh obair/Pictiúirí srl ar ais, is fear Aladdin a úsáid le bhur dtoil seachas scoil@cnocnare.net. Tabhair faoi deara go bhfreagróidh múinteoirí éagsúla ag amanna éagsúla mar gheall ar a gcúinsí áirithe féin, ní gá go dtarlóidh seo laistigh de ghnáthuaireanta scoile. Tá 4 lá obair scoile molta, maraon le himeachtaí difriúla don Aoine sonraithe ar an nGREILLE do gach rang.
The recommended school work for each class is now available on ALADDIN CONNECT under the HOMEWORK section and on the website here: at http://ww2.cnocnare.net/fsb20aib/ . When returning work / pictures etc, please use Aladdin instead of scoil@cnocnare.net where possible. Please note that different teachers will reply at different times due to their own particular circumstances, not necessarily within normal school hours. 4 days of suggested formal school work has been prepared, as well as some fun events for Friday (long Bank Holiday weekend) which are detailed on each class Activity Grid.
R2/R6
Mar is eol daoibh, bhí Céad Chomaoineach R2 le bheith ar siúl ar an Domhnach seo caite agus Cóineartú R6 ar an Aoine seo caite. Beidh na hócáidí seo ar siúl am éigin amach anseo, ach ní fios cathain fós. Táimid buíoch don Athair Declan agus cléir an pharóiste as ucht na páistí a aithint san Aifreann ar na laethanta sin.
As you know, the First Holy Communion for R2 was due to take place last Sunday as well as Confirmation for R6 last Friday. These events will take place sometime in the future, as yet no decisions have been made as to when. We are grateful to Father Declan and the parish clergy for acknowledging the children at Mass in the Cathedral on both days.
Tá pleanáil do Mheán Fómhair agus dar ndóigh Bealtaine/Meitheamh ar siúl go leanúnach – uasdhátú thíos.
Planning for September and of course May/June continues, see below.
Meitheamh/June
- Táimid ag súil le scéim a chur i bhfeidhm ón 8 Meitheamh chun leabhar scoile, cóipeanna srl a dháileadh chomh maith le leabhair ar chíos agus leabhair léitheoireachta roinnte a bhailiú ó theaghlaigh. Tuilleadh sonraí sna seachtainí amach romhainn. We expect to put a scheme in place from June 8th to organise the distribution of schoolbooks, copies etc. as well as collect the school rental and shared reading texts from families. More details in the coming weeks.
- Ní bheidh tástálacha caighdeánaithe sa Ghaeilge, sa Bhéarla agus sa Mhatamaitic, a reáchtáiltear de ghnáth i mí na Bealtaine agus i mí an Mheithimh, ag dul ar aghaidh. Maidir le féidearachtaí iad a chur ar siúl san Fhómhar, tamall tar éis dúinn filleadh, táimid ag fanacht le treoir na Roinne ar seo. Standardised tests in Gaeilge, English and Maths, usually held in May and June, will obviously not be going ahead. The possibility of them going ahead in Autumn, sometime after we return, has not been finalised yet and we await Department direction on the matter.
- Beidh an scoil ag eisiúint tuairiscí scoile mar is gnáth do gach dalta. Beimid in ann iad a eisiúint go sábháilte trí Aladdin Connect agus tabharfar níos mó sonraí an mhí seo chugainn. The school will be issuing a school report as normal for all pupils. We will be able to issue them safely and securely through Aladdin Connect and more details will be given next month.
Meán Fómhair/September:
Glacaimid leis go n-osclóidh an scoil, i cibé foirm a mholtar, ag deireadh Lúnasa / tús mhí Mheán Fómhair. Tá pacáiste fáilte réamhscoile á ullmhú do na Naíonáin Nua agus cuirfear amach é sna seachtainí amach romhainn. Seachas faisnéis agus tuairimíocht a scaiptear go forleathan sna meáin, níl aon fhocal cinnte againn faoi cad a tharlódh. Táimid fós ag fanacht le treoir ón Roinn maidir le conas a oibreoidh scoileanna agus cad iad na cúinsí agus an trealamh sábháilteachta a chaithfidh a bheith i bhfeidhm. Tá an scoil glanta go domhain. Is é an chéad phróiseas eile atá romhainn ná míreanna a theastaíonn i ngach seomra ranga (doirteal, uisce te, pointí sláintíochta srl.) a shainaithint chomh maith le gnáth-théamh agus soilsiú lena chinntiú go bhfuil na seomraí réidh don scoilbhliain nua.
We assume school will open, in whatever form is recommended, at the end of August/beginning of September. A pre-school welcome pack is being prepared for the New Infants and will be posted out in the coming weeks. Other than information and speculation widely circulating in the media, we have no definitive word on what may happen. We are still awaiting direction from the Department on how schools will operate and what safety considerations and equipment needs to be in place. The school has been thoroughly deep cleaned. Our next process is to identify works required in each classroom (sinks, hot water, sanitising points etc,) as well as normal heating and lighting to ensure the rooms are ready for the new school year.
Tumu Tumu – We Will Walk 500 Miles
Tá foireann na scoile, i gcomhpháirt le Coláiste na Trócaire agus cúpla tuismitheoir, ag siúl 500 míle nó níos mó chun airgead a bhailiú dár bpáirtnéirí sa bhnscoil i Tumu Tumu. Tacaigí linn más féidir!
The school staff, in conjunction with Mercy College and some parents, have walked 500 miles (and have started walking 500 more!) to raise money for our partner school in Tumu Tumu, Kenya. Please support if possible @ https://www.ifundraise.ie/fundraiser/11385332_we-will-walk-500-miles.html
Fanaigí slán!
