Cairde agus an Bord Bainistíochta
Bainistíonn an Bord an scoil ar son an Phátrúin (An Foras Pátrúnachta, www.foras.ie) agus tá an Bord freagrach don Phátrún agus don Aire. Tá freagrachtaí an bhoird leagtha amach sa reachtaíocht ina n-áirítear bainistiú chúrsaí airgeadais agus áiseanna na scoile, múinteoirí a cheapadh, saincheisteanna acmhainní daonna, polasaithe scoile, idirchaidreamh leis an Roinn Oideachais. srl. Coiste foirmiúil atá ann le hionadaíocht laistigh agus lasmuigh den scoil air. Bíonn toghcháin ann gach ceithre bliana agus cloisfidh tú níos mó faoi seo go luath mar go mbeidh bord nua i bhfeidhm faoi Nollaig 2015. Freisin, ardaíonn an Bord Bainistíochta airgead trí ranníocaíocht dheonach chun costais riachtanacha, mar shampla teagasc, cothabháil, leictreachas, teas, oifige agus glanadh a chlúdach.

Tá Cairde (cumann na dtuismitheoirí) níos neamhfhoirmiúla, tagaimid le chéile uair sa mhí (den chuid is mó i mBéarla!). Tá gach tuismitheoir / caomhnóir go huathoibríoch mar bhall Cairde ach tá coiste lárnach le Cathaoirleach, Rúnaí, Cisteoir agus freisin beirt thuismitheoir ó gach rang. Bíonn na toghcháin ar siúl gach bliain agus ar siúl ag an AGM. Eagraíonn Cairde imeachtaí sóisialta a chuireann ar chumas thuismitheoirí agus páistí bualadh lasmuigh den lá scoile. Cuidíonn sé freisin leis an Bhord Bainistíochta i dtaobh polasaithe na scoile agus ardaímid airgead a théann i dtreo costais neamhriachtanacha, mar shampla: IT, spóirt, ceol, trealamh, matamaitice agus eolaíochta, leabhair leabharlainne agus maoiniú an cóisir do Chéad Chomaoineach.

AGM
Beidh AGM Cairde ar siúl ar an Mháirt 13 Deireadh Fómhair ag 8pm sa scoil. Seo a leanas dréacht den chlár oibre:

  • Tuarascálacha an chathaoirligh, rúnaí agus cisteoir ón mbliain roimhe sin.
  • Tuairisc ón Scoil / BOM
  • Athbhreithniú ar an mBunreacht
  • Toghadh coiste nua. (Más mian leat do ainm a chur ar aghaidh nó duine éigin a ainmniú (le cead), cuir ríomhphost chuig an rúnaí aodhmar@itsligo.ie, roimh ré nó tar chuig an gcruinniú ar an oíche sin.

Iarraimid ar gach teaghlach ionadaí a sheoladh más féidir in aon chor. Ba bhreá linn daoine úra a fháil don choiste, déanaigí machnamh air le bhur dtoil. Chun an t-ualach a roinnt, bíonn gach rang freagrach as imeacht amháin a eagrú sa bhliain, mar sin má tá tú sásta a bheith i do ionadaí ranga, ní gá duit ach am a thabhairt go príomha don imeacht lena bhfuil tú bainteach, ní gá duit freastal ar chruinnithe uile an choiste.

Ar deireadh, ní raibh athbhreithniú déanta ar bhunreacht Cairde le blianta fada agus is gá aghaidh a thabhairt ar seo. Iniata tá cóipeanna den sean cheann agus dréacht-bhunreacht nua. Má tá aon mholtaí agat seol iad tríd an láithreán gréasáin ar an nasc ANSEO

Cuirfimid athruithe i bhfeidhm agus, más féidir, an bunreacht nua a dhaingniú ag an AGM.

Cairde and the Board of Management.
In the next two months there will be elections in both the parents association, Cairde and the Board of Management of the school. For those who are new to the school – here is an explanation of some of the differences between the two groups.
The Board of Management is a legal requirement of any school. The Board manages the school on behalf of the Patron (An Foras Pátrúnachta www.foras.ie) and is accountable to the Patron and the Minister. The responsibilities of the board are set out by legislation and include managing the finances and facilities of the school, appointment of teachers and HR issues, school policies, liaising with the Department of Education. etc. It is a formal committee with representation from within and outside the school. Elections are every four years and you will be hearing more about this as the new board has to be in place by early December 2015. The BOM raises funds through the voluntary contribution to cover essential costs for example teaching, maintenance, electricity, heat, office costs and cleaning etc.
Cairde (the parents association) is more informal, it meets once a month (mainly in English!). All parents/guardians are automatically members of Cairde but there is a central committee of Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and also two parents from each class group. Elections are held each year and take place at the AGM. Cairde organises social events to enable parents and children to meet outside the school day. It also assists the BOM with school policies and it carries out fund raising that goes towards non-essential costs for example: IT, sports, music, maths and science equipment, library books & funding the communion party.

The AGM of Cairde will take place on Tuesday 13th October at 8pm-9pm in the school. The draft agenda is as follows:

  • Reports of the chairperson, secretary and treasurer from the previous year.
  • Report from the School/BOM
  • Revision of the constitution
  • Election of new committee. If you wish to put your name forward or nominate someone (with their permission), please email out secretary aodhmar@itsligo.ie beforehand – or come to the meeting on the night.

We ask that each family send a representative if at all possible. We would like to see as many new faces as possible this year on the committee so please consider getting involved. To share the work, each class is responsible for organising one event in the year, so if you volunteer to be a class rep, you only need to give your time around that event, you don’t have to attend all the meetings.

Finally, the constitution of Cairde has not been revised for many years and is due some attention. A copy of the old constitution and the new draft constitution are attached. If you have any suggestions for changes please email them in through the website the link  HERE We will incorporate changes and, if possible, ratify the new constitution at the AGM.
