COMÓRTAS EALAÍNE TEXACO/ ART COMPETITION
Comhghairdeas le Giada i Naíonáin Shinsir a bhuaigh duais i gcomórtas ealaíne TEXACO le déanaí. Tá an caighdéan sa chomórtas seo an-ard; éacht mór é seo, maith thú Giada! Buíochas le Múinteoir Katríona a d’eagraigh iontráil na scoile.
Congratulations to Giada, Náionáin Shinsir, who won a prize in the recent Texaco National Art Competition. The standard is very high and this is a big achievement. Well done Giada! Thanks to Múinteoir Katríona for organising the school entries.

Comhghairdeas lena páistí ón scoil a ghlac páirt i bhFeis Ceoil i rith na Cásca. Bhí an bua ag an dá ghrúpa cheoil agus ag an mBanna Feadóga.
Congratulations to all the children who took part in Feis Ceoil during the Easter break. Both Trad. groups and the Tin Whistle Band were winners in their sections.

Ta athraithe déanta ag Bus Éireann don scéim iompar scoile maidir le páistí ag iarraidh spásanna ar shuíocháin bus scoile i gcóir 2017/2021. Tá sé an-tábhachtach bheith i dteagmháil le Bus Éireann (níl leis an scoil) roimh an Aoine seo chugainn 5ú Bealtaine 2017 má tá an seirbhís uait. Ní féidir leis an scoil a bheith freagrach as muna gcuirtear foirmeacha líonta ar ais in am agus go gcailleann daoine amach ar shuíocháin. Míle buíochas.
Bus Éireann have made some changes to the rules regarding school transport for parents wishing to avail of the school bus service for the coming school years 2017/2021. It is extremely important that you complete the Bus Eireann form online or download the form from the website and return to Bus Eireann (please do not return to the school), before next FRIDAY 5th May 2017. As we are in danger of losing some routes, we ask that all parents ensure their children have secured seats, including any new children to the school for the next 4 years. Once a route is lost, it WILL NOT be reinstated for four years according to the new Bus Eireann rules, therefore we ask that you go online and secure places now. The service is also available to parents who have not used the route to date, but want to consider it from here on. The school cannot be held responsible for unavailability of seats, if you have not applied online or returned the form to Bus Éireann in time. www.buseireann.ie CLOSING DATE:FRIDAY 5th May. OILIÚINT & LÁ NA NGEANSAÍ/COACHING & GAA JERSEY DAY:
Tá an t-ádh linn mic léinn ón IT a fháil a thagann chun oiliúint a thabhairt do na páistí i scileanna peile agus iománaíochta, agus tá an scéim seo á mhaoiniú ag Cumann na mBunscol. Gach bliain, iarrtar ar gach scoil a ghlacann páirt sa scéim seo Lá na nGeansaí a reáchtáil chun cabhrú leo é a mhaoiniú. Chuige sin, táimid ag eagrú Lá na Geansaí ar an Aoine seo 28 Aibreán, agus iarraimid ar na páistí geansaí nó dathanna dá rogha féin a chaitheamh. Bheadh fáilte roimh síntiús €3-5 ó gach clann más féidir. Beidh bliots peile/iomanaíochta sa pháirc ar an lá sin freisin, dona páistí i Rang 3 & Rang 4.
We are very fortunate to have students from the IT come to train the children in football and hurling skills, and this is funded by Cumann na mBunscol. Every year, each school who participates in this scheme is asked to run a Jersey Day to facilitate funding of these and other schemes for school children across the country. We are holding our GAA Jersey Day this Friday, 28th April, and the children are invited to wear any Jersey of their choice, or dress up in their favourite team colours. Each family is asked to contribute €3-5 if possible. All the children from Rang 3 & Rang 4 will be taking part in a fun football/hurling blitz on the pitch beside us on that day also.

Freisin bí cinnte go gcuirtear aon airgead a thugtar don scoil (turas srl.) i gclúdach litreach. Le níos mó ná 200 dalta sa scoil, tá sé dodhéanta súil a choinneáil ar airgead nach bhfuil i gclúdach, go háirithe ag an am seo den bhliain leis an oiread sin turais scoile / gníomhaíochtaí etc. Muna bhfuil na clúdaigh scoile buí agat , seol € 3.50 chugainn agus cuirfimid paicéad nua chugat, nó is féidir aon chlúdach litreach ón mbaile a athchúrsáil. Tá sé fíor-thábhachtach go mbíonn uimhir teagmhála tuistí againn do gach páiste sa scoil. Má tá aon athrú tagtha ar bhur sonraí teagmhála, cuir scéal chuig Muireann san oifig láithreach, le bhur dtoil. Míle Buíochas.
It would be greatly appreciated if any forms to be signed, money for various events, or permission slips are returned to the school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, or by date specified on the note, to allow for effective administration. Also, if you are sending money into the school, PLEASE ensure it is in an envelope! With over 250 pupils now in the school, and growing, it is impossible to keep track of children handing money in without an envelope. If you have misplaced or run out of your yellow school envelopes, send €3.50 in with your child and a packet will be sent home with them. Alternatively, you can recycle any envelope from home. Also, it is imperative that the school has a contact number of a parent/guardian for each child, which is accessible at all times. If you have changed/updated any of your contact details, please let Muireann in the school office know immediately, thank you.
