Rollú Scoile/New Enrolment Policy

Níos luaithe i mbliana d’fhoilsigh an Roinn Oideachais agus Scileanna Ciorclán 7/2020 maidir le tús a chur le codanna áirithe den Acht Oideachais (Ligean Isteach i Scoileanna) 2018 . Is é cuspóir an chiorcláin údaráis scoile a chur ar an eolas faoi chodanna den acht thuas a éileoidh athruithe ar bheartais agus phróisis iontrála scoile. Beidh feidhm ag na socruithe nua maidir le hiontrálacha scoile don scoilbhliain 2021/22 agus na blianta ina dhiaidh sin. Ón bhliain seo i leith, ní féidir aon iarratais a dhéanamh roimh 1 Deireadh Fómhair sa bhliain roimh an iontógáil agus mar sin ní féidir leis an scoil liostaí réamhchlárúcháin a oibriú mar a rinneadh cheana; is é seo i ndáiríre an t-athrú is mó ar nósanna imeachta reatha na scoile.

Éilítear ar gach bord bainistíochta Polasaí Iontrála nua agus Fógra Bliantúil Iontrála a dhréachtú. Caithfidh ráiteas a bheith sa bheartas nua nach ndéanfaidh an scoil idirdhealú i gcoinne iarratasóra ar chead isteach ar aon cheann de roinnt forais lena n-áirítear reiligiún. Tabharfaidh an Fógra Bliantúil Iontrála breac-chuntas ar fhaisnéis shonrach maidir leis an bpróiseas iarratais ar ligean isteach sa scoil don bhliain atá i gceist.

Earlier this year the Department of Education and Skills published Circular 7/2020 regarding the commencement of certain sections of the Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018. The purpose of the circular is to bring to the attention of school authorities the commencement of a number of sections of the above act which will require changes to school admission policies and processes. The new arrangements will apply to school admissions for the 2021/22 school year and subsequent years. From this year, no applications can be taken before October 1^st in the year preceding intake so the school cannot operate pre-enrolment lists as before; this is in effect the only major change to our current procedures.

At this time all boards of management are required to draft a New Admission Policy and an Annual Admission Notice. The new policy must contain a statement that the school will not discriminate against an applicant for admission on any of a number of grounds including religion. The Annual Admission Notice will outline specific information in respect of the application process for admission to the school for the year in question.
