Aifreann do Sheachtain na Scoileanna Caitliceacha/Mass for Catholic Schools Week:
Beidh páistí ó R2 – R6 ag freastal ar Aifreann san Ardeaglais an gCéadaoin seo, an 31 Eanáir ag 10.30 rn. Tá fáilte roimh tuismitheoirí, gaolta srl. a bheith i láthair. Déanfar maoirseacht ar leanaí nach bhfreastláionn ar Aifreann, n-fhreastail ar mhais na scoile, mar a chuirfear in iúl dúinn, sa scoil.
Children from R2 – R6 will attend mass in the Cathedral this Wednesday 31st Jan at 10.30am. All parents, relatives etc. are also welcome to attend. Children who do not attend school mass, as notified to us, will be supervised at school.
Laethanta Oscailte & Clárúcháin /OPEN DAYS & ENROLMENT 2018
Beidh Laethanta Oscailte & Clárúcháin sa scoil um thráthnóna ar an Aoine 9ú agus an Satharn 10ú Feabhra ó 1:30 – 3:00. Má tá aithne agat ar éinne go bhfuil suim acu a bpáiste a chlárú, abair leo teacht ansin nó glaoch a chur ar an scoil. Freisin, déan cinnte go bhfuil do fhoirmeacha líonta amach agus curtha ar ais chuig oifig na scoile má tá páiste(í) agat le clárú i 2019, 2020, 2021 nó 2022. Tabhair faoi deara nach do naíonáin nua amháin an clárúcháin agus go nglactar le páistí i ranganna eile freisin.
Enrolment and Open Days for the school will take place on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th February from 1.30 – 3.00p.m. for parents and their children who wish to enrol in the Gaelscoil for the coming years. If you know anyone interested in enrolling their child please ask them to come along or contact the school, as lists are increasing rapidly. Also, can you please ensure that you have completed and returned to the office your own form if YOU have a child/children to be enrolled in the years 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022. Forms are available in office. Please note, that enrolment is not just for junior infants and that the school has limited spaces in the older classes too if anyone is interested.
Briseadh Lár Téarma/Mid-Term Break
Beidh an scoil dúnta ar feadh 15ú & 16ú Feabhra don bhriseadh lár téarma. Dúnfaidh an scoil ag 2.30 i.n. mar is de gnáth ar an gCéadaoin 14ú Feabhra.
School will be closed for two days, 15th & 16th February, for the mid-term break. School will finish at 2.30pm as normal on Wednesday 14th February.
cadhnraí caite/ USED BATTERY COLLECTION
Táimid ag bailiú cadhnraí caite i rith na seachtaine seo ar son WEEE Éireann agus Oispís LAURALYNN. Cuirigí chugainn iad faoin Aoine seo le bhur dtoil. Míle Buíochas!
We are collecting used batteries during this week for WEEE Ireland and the LAURALYNN Children’s Hospice. Please send them into the school by Friday. Míle Buíochas!
NB _-Míolta Gruaige/Head Lice:
Faraor, tá míolta gruaige fairsing go leor i ngach scoil, go háirithe ag an am seo den bhliain. Tá curtha in iúl go bhfuil cás sa scoil agus bheimis buíoch go ndéanfaidh sibh scrudú ar ghruaig do chuid páiste INNIU. Iarraimid oraibh seiceáil go minic agus oifig na scoile a chur ar an eolas más gá.
Unfortunately Headlice are a fact of life in all schools, particularly at this time of year. We have been notified of a few current cases in the school and would appreciate if you check your child (rens) head TODAY and treat accordingly please if applicable. We rely on the vigilance of parents to ensure outbreaks are kept to a minimum, but need ALL parents to carry out intermittent checks and please advise the school office if necessary, otherwise the problem will continue unabated . Thank you.
MEABHRÁN/REMINDERS:
- Tá sé fíor thábhachtach ainm do pháiste a chur ar éadaí scoile, ach go háirithe geansaí, culaith reatha agus cótaí. Déan seic INNIU le bhur dtoil go bhfuil gach ceann marcáilte, agus muna bhfuil, bheimis fíor buíoch é a bheith déanta.
- Éide scoile agus bróga cearta ar na laethanta cuí.
- A bheith cinnte go bhfuil an fearais ceart ag na páistí don scoil i.e. peann (luaidhe), scriosán, rialóir, foclóir srl.
- An Dialann Obair Bhaile a shíniú gach oíche (Luan – Déardaoin)
- It is extremely important that each piece of your children’s school clothing is clearly marked with their name! PLEASE check TODAY, and if it is not marked, please do so, particularly jumpers, tracksuit tops and coats.
- Please ensure your child has the correct uniform and shoes on the appropriate day.
- Please ensure your child has packed what they need for school daily, i.e. pens (or pencils), eraser, ruler, dictionaries etc.
- Please check and sign your child’s homework diary (Mon to Thurs)

For FEIS CEOIL ART competition, entries must be at the MCR Hall, Mail Coach Road, on Friday Feb. 9th between 3pm – 5pm (see form). Entries can be submitted through the school up to Feb 9th. All Art entries must be an original, unaided work done by the child in the present school year, and must be properly mounted and marked with the child’s name, school, age and category. See attached.
