Beidh Seachtain na Gaeilge ar siúl i mbliana ón 1ú Marta go 17ú Marta. Beidh imeachtaí speisialta ar siúl do na páistí sa scoil. Beidh comórtas físeán (sonraí ag na páistí) comórtas ealaíne, trath na gceist agus La Glas. Ba mhaith linn go labhróidh na paistí Gaeilge le daoine taobh amuigh den scoil agus na torthaí a insint dúinn!  

“Seachtain na Gaeilge”/“Irish Language Week” will take place from 1st to 17th March this year. There will be special activities in the school for the children. One such event is to create a short video (children have the details) as well as an Art competition, quiz and a ‘Green Day’ for Make-a Wish. Also, we have asked the children to use Gaeilge outside the school with others and to report the results!

 

While World Book Day is on Thursday, 5th March it is on FRIDAY the 6th that the children, as in previous years, may come to school dressed as a character from a book. Each child will receive a voucher that they can use in a bookshop. Cairde will organise a book swap day on  Friday the 6th of March during the school day whereby children can bring in books that they have read and arrange to swop them for other books and also purchase additional books for .50c per book. This can only go ahead if CAIRDE have sufficient volunteers (contact cairde@cnocnare.net or 0860380060)

 

NB-DÚNADH SCOILE/SCHOOL CLOSURES
Beidh forbairt ghairmiúil scoile (Curaclam Teanga na Bunscoile) ar siúl don bhfoireann ar an AOINE 13ú MÁRTA 2020. Beidh an scoil ag dúnadh ag 12.00 ar an lá sin (agus dúnta freisin ar an Luan 16ú agus ar an Mháirt 17ú).
Whole school professional development on The Primary Language Curriculum will take place for our staff on the afternoon of  FRIDAY 13th MARCH 2020.  The school will close at 12 noon that day and will be closed on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th.

Best of luck to the children from R6 and R4 who will take part in a Gael Linn competition in the Hawkswell on Tuesday 10th March.  Other classes (to be arranged) will also be going to the Hawkswell to support.

Congratulations to Múinteoir Fiona on the birth of her daughter Áine lately.

 

We hope to take part in the St Patricks Day Parade again this year. The theme is “Through the Decades 1970 – 2020”. More details later.

 

Friday 13th March from 5 – 7 pm approx. in Osta café: Drop in with the kids (or friends, relatives etc.) and practise your ‘cúpla focal’!
