Tá Seachtain na Gaeilge (http://www.snag.ie/ ) ar siúl anois go dtí 17ú Márta Beidh imeachtaí speisialta ar siúl do na páistí sa scoil féach thíos. Déanaigí iarracht níos mó Gaeilge a úsáid sa bhaile an tseachtain seo! !
“Seachtain na Gaeilge”/“Irish Language Week” (http://www.snag.ie/ ) is now in progress until 17th March this year. There will be special activities in the school for the children. Please make an effort to use more Irish in the home during Seachtain na Gaeilge!
Dé Céadaoin 7ú Márta:

Seó Puipéad R1 & R2 sa leabharlann. D’imigh nóta abhaile sna málaí. Ár mbuíochas leis an Leabharlann.
Puppet show in the library for R1 & R2. Note went home with children in bags. Many thanks to Sligo Library for facilitating this event for the children.

Lá Domhanda na Leabhair/World Book Day:
Bhí Lá Domhanda na Leabhair le bheith ar siúl ar an Déardaoin seo caite. Fuair gach páiste dearbhán gur féidir leo a úsáid i siopa leabhair. Beidh deis ag na páistí teacht ar scoil ar an Aoine seo gléasta mar charactar ó leabhar.
World Book Day was last Thursday 1st March but due to school closure we were unable to hold our usual events . Each child in the school should have received a book token. These tokens can be exchanged for certain marked books, or used as part payment on others in local bookshops. Reading is always a good exercise for your child! Children, as in previous years, may come to school dressed as a character from a book this Friday 9th March.

Cake sale in the school organised by R6. If anyone can leave in baked goods on Thursday morning, it would be gratefully appreciated. More details later.

Lá Glas agus cleachtadh don mhórshiúil.
Green Day – children can dress up in Irish colours or the theme for the parade. Practice for St Patrick’s Day Parade.
COIRM GAEL LINN
Comhghairdeas le na páistí a bhain ceithre ghradam amach i gCoirm Gael Linn sa Hawkswell le déanaí. Buíochas mór do M. Gráinne agus M. Samantha freisin.
Congratulations to the children who won four awards at the Coirm Gael Linn competition in the Hawkswell recently. Thanks to M.Gráinne and M.Samantha also who put in a lot of work with the children and with props for the show.

We will be taking part in the St Patricks Day Parade again this year. The theme for 2018: Celebrating The Year of the Woman. In line with the 100 year anniversary of women being granted the right to vote and stand for election (with Countess Markievicz being the first woman elected to the House of Commons), the theme for this year celebrates the women of Sligo and the world. We must have parents available to supervise the children and wait at the end of the parade until all children are collected.
