Welcome back! A special welcome to all the children who started school with us this year. Welcome also to our two new staff members, Donna Marie and Medb.

- Ba chóir dona páistí a bheith ar scoil in am. I gcás go mbíonn páistí déanach, is fear iad a scaoileadh síos leo féin ón ngeata chun cur isteach ar an rang a laghdú. Más gá teachtaireacht a thabhairt, is féidir le tuismitheoirí dul suas chuig oifig na scoile.
TRÁTHNÓNA
- Ní cheadófar d’aon pháiste fágáil tríd páirc/bainc cloiche Naomh Mhuire ná díreach tríd an carrchlós.
- Úsáidfidh páistí ag siúl agus / nó ag baint úsáide as an tseirbhís bus an cosán amháin.
- Ba chóir páistí a théann abhaile i gcarr nó a bhailítear iad, a bhailiú ón spás taobh istigh den bhalla (i,e, má tá do leanbh á mbailiú agat, fan orthu taobh istigh den bhalla.)
- Tabharfaidh múinteoirí na ranganna chuig an bpointe bailiúcháin / cosán gach tráthnóna.
- Má tá gá le páistí a bhailiú go luath, cláraigh é seo sa leabhar san oifig ar dtús.

The staff and Board have reviewed arrangements for arrival and dispersal of children. In the interests of Pupil Welfare, Child Protection and Health & Safety, and as a first step, the school will implement the following new procedures from tomorrow.
MORNING
- If arriving by car, children should be walked to the line or directly to the footpath. Please do not let children walk through the carpark.
- Children line up in front of the school and inside the wall. Please do not congregate outside the wall as this poses a safety risk.
- It is important that children arrive at school in time. If late, allow them to walk unaccompanied to their room from the side-gate to minimise disruption to their class. If a message needs to be given, parents can call up to the school office.
AFTERNOON
- No children will be allowed exit through St. Mary’s/stone bank nor directly through the carpark
- Children walking and/or using the bus service exit the school by the footpath only.
- Children going home by car or being collected should be collected from inside the wall (i.e. if collecting your child, please wait inside the wall for them)
- Teachers will bring the classes to the collection point/footpath each afternoon.
- If children need to be collected early, please sign the book in the office first.

Gaeilge/Irish:
Beidh na múinteoirí ag cur béim faoi leith ar labhairt na Gaeilge i gcónaí agus tá súil againn go spreagfaidh tuismitheoirí na páistí agus an Ghaeilge atá acu féin a úsáid leo ó am go ham. Beidh Ranganna Gaeilge do thuismitheoirí ag tosú go luath. Féach freisin http://irishforparents.ie/
We are putting special emphasis on spoken Irish in the school and we hope that parents will encourage their children and use whatever Irish they have themselves with them from time to time. Irish classes for parents will start soon. More details later. See also http://irishforparents.ie/
Corp Oideachais/P.E.:
De bharr rang breise a bheith againn, beidh Corp Oideachais ar siúl ar an gCéadaoin agus Aoine dona ranganna Naíonáin go Rang 4 agus ar an Mháirt agus Déardaoin do ranganna 5 agus 6. Ní chóir an éide reatha a chaitheamh ar aon lá eile.
Due to the extra class, P.E. will be on Wednesday and Friday for Infants to Rang 4, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Rang 5 and Rang 6. These are the only days that the tracksuit should be worn for relevant classes.
OBAIR BHAILE/HOMEWORK:
Tá sé fíorthabhachtach go ndéanann tuismitheoirí obair bhaile a bpáistí a sheiceáil gach oíche agus an Dialann Scoile a shíniú.
It is important that parents check their children’s homework each evening and sign the Dialann Scoile/Diary.

If you have not already done so, please forward your email address(es) to the school (an e-mail to scoil@cnocnare.net with your name/child’s name in the subject line will suffice). Parents without e-mail will continue to receive paper versions but you must let Muireann in the office know if you want a hard copy. Please also check your “spam” folder, as your security systems may not recognise the school address.

Tá sé fíor-thábhachtach go mbíonn uimhir teagmhála tuistí againn do gach páiste sa scoil. It would be greatly appreciated if any forms to be signed, money for various events, or permission slips are returned to the school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, or by date specified on the note, to allow for effective administration. Also, if you are sending money into the school, PLEASE ensure it is in an envelope! With almost 250 pupils now in the school, it is impossible to keep track of children handing money in without an envelope, at any time of year. If you have misplaced or run out of your yellow school envelopes, send €3.50 in with your child and a packet will be sent home with them. Alternatively, you can recycle any envelope from home. It is imperative that the school has a contact number of a parent/guardian for each child, which is accessible at all times. If you have changed/updated ANY of your contact details, please let Muireann in the school office know immediately, thank you.
Ainmneacha ar Éadaí/ Names on clothes:
Tá sé fíor-thábhachtach go mbíonn ainmeacha na bpáistí, ach go háirithe na páistí sna bunranganna, go soiléir ar éadaí scoile, leabhair agus rudaí pearsanta. Féach freisin go bhfuil a g(h)eansaí féin ag do pháiste seachas ceann eile.
Please ensure that your child’s name is clearly marked on each item of clothing, books, personal belongings etc. This applies particularly to children in junior classes. Remind them to put their jumper straight into their own schoolbag if they remove it during the school day, and not to leave it behind in the yard. The school cannot be held responsible for lost items. Also check that your child has her/her own jumper rather than another child’s (especially in warm weather when jumpers are removed during the day)
