MÍLE BUÍOCHAS!
Tá an briseadh lár-téarma tagtha agus táim cinnte go bhfuil gach duine ag súil leis an sos! Ba mhaith liom buíochas a ghabháil le gach duine , bord, foireann, páistí agus tuismitheoirí don obair agus comhoibriú iontach ó thus na scolbhliana chun oideachais i suiómh slán a chur ar fáil sa scoil. Fanaigí Slán agus feicfimid a chéile sinn ar an Luan 2ú Samhain.

The mid-term break has finally arrived and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the break! I would like to thank everyone, the board, staff, children and parents for the wonderful work and co – operation from the beginning of the school year in providing a secure education in the school. Stay safe and we will see each other on Monday 2nd November.

SCOIL NUA-UPDATE
Deá-scéal! Tá an-áthas ar an mBord Bainistíochta a bheith in ann a dhearbhú go bhfuil suíomh aitheanta don fhoirgneamh scoile nua. Faoi láthair tá an Roinn i dteagmháil le haturnaetha na n-úinéirí i dtreo conarthaí a fhoirmiú chun an láithreán a cheannach. Tá an láithreán suite in aice leis an scoil le rochtain ón mbóthar nua atá á thógáil faoi láthair. Beidh an Bord ag scríobh chuig an Roinn anois chun brú a chur ar dhul chun cinn maidir le scoil nua a luaithe is a bheidh ceannach an láithreáin críochnaithe. Ba mhaith leis an mBord buíochas a ghabháil le gach duine a chabhraigh lena n-áirítear Comhairle Contae Shligigh a rinne iarracht shuntasach suíomh a fháil don scoil. Ar aghaidh linn!

Good News! The Board of Management are delighted to be able to confirm that a site has been identified for the new school building. Currently the Department are engaged with the solicitors for the owners towards formalising contracts for the purchase of the site. The site is located adjacent to the school with access from the new road currently under construction. The Board will now be writing to the Department to press for progress on a new school as soon as the purchase of the site is completed. The Board would like to thank all who have helped including Sligo County Council who committed significant effort to have a site acquired for the school.

BOB NÓ BIA/TRICK OR TREAT FOR TEMPLE STREET
Bhí lá iontach againn ar scoil inniu agus bhí sé go hiontach gach duine a fheiceáil gléasta agus iad ag baint taitneamh as an lá. Freisin, inniu an chéad lá go rabhamar in ann gach duine a bhailiú le chéile, scartha go sóisialta, sa pháirc peile le haghaidh Paráid na Samhna! Níor bailíodh móráin airgid inniu agus beimid ag bailiú arís nuair a fhillimid ar scoil.

We had a great day at school today and it was great to see everyone dressed and enjoying the day. Also, today was the first day that we were able to get everyone together, socially separated, in the football pitch for Halloween Parade! As only a small amount of money was raised today, we will be collecting again when we return to school.

OBAIR BHAILE/SEESAW
Beidh Obair Bhaile foirmiúil ag atosú i ndiaidh an bhriseadh lár-téarma. Beimid ag úsáid SeeSaw chun roinnt de a dhéanamh maraon le leabhair/bileoga srl. a bheidh curtha abhaile go rialta agus go sábháilte.

Is plean seachtaine a bheidh le déanamh i ngach rang. Beidh deis ag tuistí/páistí é a bhriseadh thar na laethanta in oiriúint daoibh féin. Tá na ranganna ar fad le clarú le Seesaw agus méid áirithe (athróidh seo ó rang go rang, múinteoir go múinteoir) den obair bhaile le déanamh ar Seesaw ionas go mbeidh múinteoirí agus páistí ag fáil taithí ar an gcur chuige sin. Má bhaineann, beidh pacáiste ag dul abhaile i bhfillteán Ziplock gach Aoine agus ag teacht ar ais ar an Déardaoin/Aoine dár gcionn. Beidh 2 fhillteán Ziplock de dhíth i roinnt ranganna chun cloí le treoirlínte coraintín.

Conas a bhaileofar/cheartófar obair na bpáistí? Moladh láidir go gcuirfear gach rud ar ais tríd SeeSaw. I gcás nach féidir, glacfar le bileoga/cóipleabhair srl ach is eisceacht seo nach molfar ach nuair is gá.

Cathain a ceartófar Obair Bhaile? Is féidir obair bhaile a chur ar SeeSaw am ar bith ach ní gá go mbeidh sé ceartaithe go deireadh na seachtaine nó luath an tseachtain dár gcionn. Má bhíonn obair scríofa le cur ar ais ar scoil, tiocfaidh sé sa Ziplock ar an Déardaoin nó Aoine, arís ar an dtuiscint nach gá go mbeidh sé ceartaithe go deireadh na seachtaine nó luath an tseachtain dár gcionn.

Tá an obair bhaile don chéad seachtain réitithe ag na múinteoirí agus curtha sna boscaí inniu ionas go mbeidh na páistí in ann iad a thabhairt abhaile go sábháilte ar an Luan a fhillimid.

Formal Homework will resume after the mid-term break. We will be using SeeSaw to for some of it as well as books / worksheets etc. which will be sent home regularly and safely.

Homework will consist of a weekly plan and children will have the opportunity to complete it over the 4 days as best suits each family. All classes are registered with Seesaw and a certain amount (this will vary from class to class, teacher to teacher) of homework to be done on Seesaw so that teachers and children can get used that approach which will be useful in the event of a school or class lockdown. If applicable, a package will go home in the Ziplock folder every Friday and return the following Friday. Some classes will require 2 Ziplock folders to comply with quarantine guidelines.

How will the children’s work be collected/corrected? We recommend that everything be returned via SeeSaw (photo/scan of work). Where this is not possible, worksheets / copybooks etc will be accepted but as an exception only where necessary.

When will Homework be corrected? Homework can be posted on SeeSaw at any time but may not be corrected until the end of the week or early the next week. If written work is to be returned to school, it will arrive in the Ziplock on Thursday or Friday, again on the understanding that it may not be corrected until the end of the week or early the following week.

The teachers have prepared homework for the first week back and put it in the boxes today so that the children can take them home safely on the Monday we return.
