NUACHTLITIR – SAMHAIN #1, 2020

Fáilte romhaibh ar fad ar ais. Buíochas libh ar fad don sár-iarracht atá déanta ag gach éinne chun an scoil a athoscailt agus a choinneáil ar oscailt. Ta dúshlán fós romhainn don chuid seo den téarma, idir seo agus saoire na Nollag. Iarrfaimid go leanfaidh an dea-thoil agus comhoibriú ar aghaidh ionas gur féidir linn an scoil a choinneáil slán ó CoVID-19 a oiread agus is féidir. Ní neart go cur le chéile.
Welcome back. Thanks again for the great effort that everyone has made to allow us to reopen the school and to keep it open. There are still challenges ahead during this part of the term, between now and the Christmas holidays. We know that the goodwill and co-operation from all will continue, and will help us keep the school community safe from COVID-19 as much as possible.

 OBAIR BHAILE/SEESAW
Beidh Obair Bhaile foirmiúil ag atosú inniu. Beimid ag úsáid SeeSaw chun roinnt de a dhéanamh maraon le leabhair/bileoga srl. a bheidh curtha abhaile go rialta agus go sábháilte. Tá an obair bhaile don chéad seachtain réitithe ag na múinteoirí agus curtha sna boscaí roimh an bhriseadh go mbeidh na páistí in ann iad a thabhairt abhaile go sábháilte inniu.

Is plean seachtaine atá le déanamh i ngach rang. Tá deis ag tuistí/páistí é a bhriseadh thar na laethanta in oiriúint daoibh féin. Tá na ranganna ar fad cláraithe le Seesaw agus méid áirithe (athróidh seo ó rang go rang, múinteoir go múinteoir) den obair bhaile le déanamh ar Seesaw ionas go mbeidh múinteoirí agus páistí ag fáil taithí ar an gcur chuige sin. Má bhaineann, beidh pacáiste ag dul abhaile i bhfillteán Ziplock gach Aoine agus ag teacht ar ais ar an Déardaoin/Aoine dár gcionn. Beidh 2 fhillteán Ziplock de dhíth i roinnt ranganna chun cloí le treoirlínte coraintín.

Conas a bhaileofar/cheartófar obair na bpáistí? Moladh láidir go gcuirfear gach rud ar ais tríd SeeSaw. I gcás nach féidir, glacfar le bileoga/cóipleabhair srl ach is eisceacht seo nach molfar ach nuair is gá.

Cathain a ceartófar Obair Bhaile? Is féidir obair bhaile a chur ar SeeSaw am ar bith ach ní gá go mbeidh sé ceartaithe go deireadh na seachtaine nó luath an tseachtain dár gcionn. Má bhíonn obair scríofa le cur ar ais ar scoil, tiocfaidh sé sa Ziplock ar an Déardaoin nó Aoine, arís ar an dtuiscint nach gá go mbeidh sé ceartaithe go deireadh na seachtaine nó luath an tseachtain dár gcionn.

Tógfaidh sé am ar gach duine teacht isteach air agus cinnte go mbeidh deacrachtaí áirithe ar gach taobh de ar feadh tamaill. Ná bígí buartha faoi; táimíd ar fad sa bhád céanna agus foghlaimeoimid óna chéile!

Formal Homework resumes today. We will be using SeeSaw for some of it, as well as books / worksheets etc. which will be sent home regularly and safely. The teachers prepared homework for the first week back and put it in the boxes on the last day of school so that the children can take them home safely today.

Homework will consist of a weekly plan and children will have the opportunity to complete it over the 4 days as best suits each family. All classes are registered with Seesaw and a certain amount (this will vary from class to class, teacher to teacher) of homework will be done on Seesaw. Teachers and children will get used to this approach, which will be useful in the event of a school or class lockdown. If applicable, a package will go home in the Ziplock folder every Friday and return the following Friday. Some classes will require 2 Ziplock folders to comply with quarantine guidelines.

How will the children’s work be collected/corrected? We recommend that everything be returned via SeeSaw (photo/scan of work). Where this is not possible, worksheets / copybooks etc will be accepted but as an exception and only where necessary.

When will Homework be corrected? Homework can be posted on SeeSaw at any time but may not be corrected until the end of the week or early the next week. If written work is to be returned to school, it will arrive in the Ziplock on Friday, again on the understanding that it may not be corrected until the end of the week or early the following week.

It will take time for all of us to get used to the way things work and no doubt there will be teething problems. Please don’t worry; we are all in this together and will learn from each other.

Temple Street Children’s Hospital
Buíochas mór do na páistí agus tuismitheoirí go léir.  Bhailíomar os cionn €435 anuraidh agus ba bhréa linn é sin a shárú (mean de €2 an pháiste!) Muna raibh deis agat síntúis a thabhairt is féidir é a dhéanamh faoin Aoine seo, 6/11. Maith sibh go léir!
A big thank you to all parents and children who donated.  Last year we raised over €435 for Temple Street and we’d like to exceed that figure this year (average of €2 per child will do it!)  Well Done!  For those children who dressed up, please ensure your donation is submitted by Friday 6th November. GRMA!

Cruinnithe Tuistí-Múinteoirí/Parent-Teacher Meetings
Níl aon socrú déanta go fóill agus táimid ag fanacht ar threor na Roinne. Tá gach cosúlacht ar chúrsaí nach mbeidh siad ar siúl ach amháin thar an fón/idirlíon agus seans níos deireanaí sa bhlian ná mar bha ghnách. Is féidr teagmháil a dhéanamh i gcónaí leis an múinteoir ranga tríd ríomhphost, Aladdin, Seesaw (nua) nó tríd glaoch ar ais a lorg tríd an oifig.

No arrangements have been made yet and we are awaiting the Department’s guidance. It is more than likely that they will take place over the phone / internet only and may be held later in the year than usual. The class teacher can always be contacted by email, Aladdin, Seesaw (new) or by seeking a call back through the office.
