Meabhrán freisin maidir le cúpla athrú ar na socraithe a bhaineann le teacht ar scoil ar maidin:
• Dóibh siúd atá ag siúl, toisc nach bhfuil plódú i gceist, is féidir lena páistí sin teacht anois idir 8.40 agus 8.50
• Tá nós páistí a scaoileadh amach sa charrchlós má bhíonn scuaine ann ar maidin. Iarrfaimid nach ndéanfar seo ar mhaithe le sábháilteacht. Más gá duit stopadh chun páistí a scaoileadh amach agus a eagrú ar maidin, is fearr an spás taobh thiar dena cúil a úsáid. Tá bealach sábháilte isteach ag an scoil ón carrchlós sin.

There has been much happening in relation to schools in the past few days so I am sure this will the first of a few updates sent out to you in the coming days and weeks. The only new procedure definitely starting is the new scheme re. Antigen testing for close contacts in a class/pod when the school is informed by a parent of a positive case, from Monday next the 29th. Mask-wearing from 3rd class upwards is yet to be finalised but as you know the school currently allows children to wear masks if so desired. Please note the advice regarding playdates, parties, etc. for the coming weeks also. As ever, we ask that children who show symptoms not be sent to school and that you would seek medical advice. Also, a reminder in respect of changes to the arrangements for coming to school in the morning:
• Due to the smaller number of children involved, those who walk to school, or are dropped outside the gates, should now come between 8.40 and 8.50.
• There is a habit of dropping off children in the car park if there is a queue in the morning. We request that this not be done in the interests of safety. To avoid a queue building up, especially if you need to stop to drop off and organise children with bags/coats etc. in the morning, it is best to use the space behind the goals. There is a safe entrance to the school from that car park.

Ar an drochuair, ní féidir na gnáthshocruithe le haghaidh cruinnithe a chur i bhfeidhm arís i mbliana mar gheall ar COVID-19. Eiseoimid tuairisc ar dhul chun cinn lár na bliana do gach dalta sna seachtainí amach romhainn. Ansin déanfaimid glao gutháin a éascú le tuismitheoirí gach páiste, ón Máirt 7ú go dtí an Déardaoin 9ú tar éis uaireanta scoile. Eiseofar sonraí faoi seo an tseachtain seo chugainn. Tá nagnáthbhealaí cumarsáide fós ar fáil i rith na bliana ar ndóigh agus níl siad teoranta don tréimhse seo amháin. Go raibh maith agaibh as bhur dtuiscint agus bhur gcomhoibriú.
As you know, we place great value on communication between parents and teachers. Unfortunately, the usual arrangements for face-to-face meetings cannot apply again this year due to COVID-19. We will issue mid-year progress report for all pupils on in the coming weeks. We will then facilitate a phone call with each child’s parents, from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th after school hours. Details of this will issue next week. Normal channels of communication are of course available throughout the year and not confined to this period only. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Dá bhrí sin, cinntigh le do thoil go bhfuil cótaí ag do pháistí agus iad ar scoil gach lá (le hainm an pháiste orthu) Ba chóir bróga oiriúnach a chaitheamh freisin. De réir mar a théann an geimhreadh ar aghaidh agus na seomraí aeráilte ag éirí níos fuaire, ba chóir do leanaí gléasadh go cuí le sraitheanna breise laistigh nó lasmuigh d’éadaí scoile más gá, go háirithe sna seomraí réamhdhéanta.
In order to provide as much fresh air as possible for the children, and to ventilate the rooms, the children are often out on damp days (but not on wet days) for the break etc. Therefore, please ensure that your children have coats with them at school every day (with the child’s name on them) ALSO suitable shoes/footwear should be worn. As winter draws in and the ventilated rooms get colder, children should dress appropriately with extra layers inside or outside uniforms if needs be, especially in the prefab classrooms.
CIGIREACHT/INSPECTION
Mar is eol daoibh, bhí 2 chigireacht Cosanta Leanaí againn i rith na bliana seo caite. Tá áthas orainn go bhfuilimid lán-comhlíontach i ngach gné de na nósanna imeachta agus fíor-shásta barrmharcanna a fháil don fhoireann agus do na paistí i dtaobh chur i bhfeidhm agus eolas ar an gcuraclam. Foilsíodh na tuarascálacha ar shuíomh Ggréasáin na Roinne Oideachais agus tá siad ar fáil le léamh ag na nascanna thíos.
As you know, we had 2 Child Protection inspections last year. We were pleased to fully compliant in all aspects of the procedures and very satisfied to receive top marks for the staff and children in terms of curriculum implementation and knowledge. AN NOLLAIG/CHRISTMAS
Mar is eol daoibh, ní bheimid in ann Ceolchoirm Nollag a chur ar siúl i mbliana ná airgead a ardú mar a bhí blianta eile. Beimid, áfach, ag eagrú roinnt gníomhaíochtaí spraíúla do na páistí agus tá súil againn go déanfaimid físeán gairid freisin. Beidh Cártaí Nollaig arís á dhíol i mbliana (5 chárta ar €5) mar mhodh tiomsú airigid do fhearais spóirt agus corp oideachais. Eagróidh CAIRDE (Cumann na dTuismitheoirí) crannchur Nollaig fresin chuige seo. Mar a sheasann cúrsaí, beidh an scoil ag dúnadh ar an gCéadaoin 22ú Nollaig ag 12:00 do laethanta saoire na Nollag agus osclóidh sí arís ar an Déardaoin 6ú Eanáir 2022 ag 8:40r.n.
As you know, we will not be able to hold a Christmas Concert this year or raise money as we have in previous years. We will, however, be organising some fun activities for the children and hope to make a short video also. We are selling Christmas Cards this year (5 for €5) as a fundraiser for sports and P.E. equipment. CAIRDE (the Parents’ Association) will also be organising a raffle to complement this. As of now, school will close on Wednesday 22nd December at 12 noon for the Christmas Holidays and will re-open on Thursday 6th January 2022 at 8.40am.

The CAIRDE AGM will be held on Wednesday December 8th on Zoom. More details on this next week.
