NUACHT 27 Feabhra 2022

Tá súil agam go raibh sos deas ag gach duine agus sibh ag tnúth le filleadh ar an scoil amárach.

Mar is eol daoibh, tá glactha ag an Rialtas le moltaí NPHET chun deireadh a chur leis na srianta atá fós ann maidir le caitheamh maisc agus scaradh fisiciúil i scoileanna. Déanfaidh an scoil, sna laethanta agus seachtainí atá romhainn, athbhreithniú ar ár nósanna imeachta go léir i bhfianaise na comhairle seo agus déanfar aon athruithe gur gá a dhéanamh im am cuí.

Ón lá amárach, áfach, beidh maisc agus clúdaigh aghaidh roghnach don fhoireann agus do dhaltaí agus ní bheidh gá a thuilleadh le pods/neadacha a eagrú laistigh de na ranganna. Féadfaidh baill foirne nó daltaí ar mian leo leanúint ar aghaidh ag caitheamh maisc aghaidhe nó clúdaigh é sin a dhéanamh. Moltar úsáid leanúnach a bhaint as dea-bhearta coiscthe agus rialaithe ionfhabhtuithe ar nós níocháin lámh, sláinteachas riospráide, agus aeráil agus leanfar ar aghaidh leis sin. Leanann na nithe ríthábhachtacha den chomhfhreagairt maidir le COVID-19 i bhfheidhm lena n-áirítear féin-aonrú i gcás siomptóim (fiú má tá vacsaíniú iomlán/treisithe faighte) nó má tá tástáil dhearfach COVID-19 ag duine.

Tabhair aird ar leith ar na míreanna thíos. Má tá aon cheist agat is féidir dul i dteagmháil leis an scoil (071-9174019, 086-0380060, scoil@cnocnare.net)

I hope everyone has had a nice break and looking forward to returning to school tomorrow.

As you may be aware, the Government has accepted the recommendations of NPHET to remove remaining restrictions relating to mask-wearing and physical distancing in schools. The school will in the coming days and weeks review all our procedures in the light of this advice and make any necessary adjustments in time.

From tomorrow, however, masks and face coverings will be optional for staff and pupils and the organisation of pods within classes will no longer be required. Staff or pupils who wish to continue wearing face masks or coverings may do so. Continued use of good infection prevention and control measures such as hand washing, respiratory hygiene, and ventilation is advised and will continue. Critical components of the collective response in relation to COVID-19 continue to apply including self-isolation if symptomatic (even if fully vaccinated/boosted) or if having a positive COVID-19 test.

Please pay particular attention to the items below. If you have any questions, you can contact the school (071-9174019, 086-0380060, scoil@cnocnare.net )

MY CHILD HAS SYMPTOMS

• Do not send your child to school with symptoms (even with a negative antigen) especially a new cough, fatigue, fever or sore throat-see here for full list of symptoms: https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/symptoms/overview/
• Apply to the HSE for antigen tests, see https://www.hse.ie/antigentesting/

MY CHILD IS A CLOSE CONTACT
• We understand that this guidance may change in the coming days but for now, if your child is a household close contact see here: https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/contact-tracing/if-your-child-is-a-close-contact/ and also check the linked Close Contacts diagram (Close Contacts) and Isolation Guide (Isolation quick guide under 13s)

PLEASE REMIND YOUR CHILDREN
• Wash/Sanitise their hands regularly during the day, particularly on entry to school, when using the toilet and before and after eating.

IF MY CHILD HAS SYMPTOMS OR IS SICK AT SCHOOL
• As before, children displaying and/or reporting symptoms at school will be isolated 2m from the rest of the class (or brought to the isolation room) and parents contacted.

KEEPING PARENTS AND CHILDREN SAFE – COMING TO SCHOOL
(Arrive between 8.40 and 8.50 please)
• CAR: Use the carpark behind the goals only or the drop-off point at front of school. If walking from this carpark, please use the tunnel entrance. Please do not go past the railings.
• WALK/BIKE: If walking your child to school, do not use the main footpath to the school building – leave them at front gate or (with younger children) cross over to steps and use the tunnel entrance Please do not go past the railings. Cyclists should dismount at the front gate and walk the rest of the way.

KEEPING PARENTS AND CHILDREN SAFE – LEAVING SCHOOL
• CAR: Use the carpark behind the goals only. Children can ONLY be collected from the steps and must use the tunnel (i.e. they cannot walk through the main/staff carpark nor should they be collected from this carpark)
• WALK/BIKE: Children on bikes should walk to the front gate.

IF THE SCHOOL CANNOT SOURCE A TEACHER FOR MY CHILD’S CLASS
• Every effort will be made to ensure children have a teacher to teach their class from within and using outside substitutes if available. Where all possible avenues have been exhausted, it may be necessary to ask a class to stay at home and access remote learning.
