Anois agus scoilbhliain eile bainte amach againn, tá sé tábhachtach tacaíocht agus comhoibriú na dtuismitheoirí i rith na bliana a aithint, buíochas mór libh a thuismitheoirí don tacaíocht agus dílseacht i rith na bliana. Buíochas speisialta do choiste CAIRDE a d’eagraigh imeachtaí sóisialta, imeachtaí bhreischuraclam agus ardú airgid i rith na bliana. Buíochas ó chroí do na Múinteoirí Lynne, Katríona, Liz, Kelley, Dara, Laura Ann, Fiona, Aengus, Jade, Gráinne, Samantha, Yvonne, Herta, Aonghus agus Rita, ár gCúntóirí Ranga Síle, Bríd agus Veronica, ár Rúnaí Muireann agus ár bhFeighlí Joe, don obair atá déanta acu ar son na scoile agus na páistí i rith na bliana. Ba mhaith liom freisin mo bhuíochas a chur in iúl don Cathaoirleach Bartley Ó Gabháin agus an Bord Bainistíochta a thugann go flaithiúil lena gcuid ama i gcónaí. Guímid gach rath ar pháistí Rang 6 agus iad ag dul ar aghaidh anois chuig an Mheánscoil. Is le brón a fhograímid go mbeidh Múinteoir Máíre ag éirí as a post múinteoireachta i rith an tSamhraidh, tar éis 15 bliana caite linn i nGaelscoil Chnoc na Ré. Sa tréimhse sin mhúin sí na Naíonáin Shóisir agus, le cúpla bliain anuas, Rang 1. Múinteoir den scoth í Máire a bhí cumasach, tuisceanach, eolasach, dea-eagraithe agus cothrom agus chuaigh sí i gcion go mór ar pháistí, ar thuismitheoirí agus ar fhoireann na scoile. Bhí sí lán-dáiríre faoina post agus bhí leas gach aon dalta mar sprioc aici. Idir tús agus deireadh an lae scoile níor chuir sí nóiméad amháin amú. Bhí an rath ar a cuid ranganna agus rinne gach aon dalta a bhí faoina cúram dul chun cinn an-mhaith. Cuid lárnach d’fhoireann agus spiorad na scoile ab í Máire agus is cinnte go mbraithfimid go léir uainn í. Gabhaimid buíochas le Máire dá cuid oibre linn agus a cairdeas; guímid saol fada, sona, sláintiúil uirthi agus guímid gach rath uirthi agus í ar scor! At the end of another school year it is important to acknowledge the co-operation and support we receive throughout the year from parents and I want to thank you for your support and loyalty to the school during the year. A special thanks to CAIRDE who worked so hard throughout the year in organising social, extra-curricular and fundraising events. I would also like to thank all the staff, Múinteoirí Lynne, Katríona, Liz, Kelley, Dara, Laura Ann, Fiona, Aengus, Jade, Gráinne, Samantha, Yvonne, Herta, Aonghus and Rita, our SNAs Síle & Bríd, our classroom assistant Veronica, Muireann our Secretary and our Caretaker Joe, for all their work for the school and the pupils during the year. Special thanks to Bartley Ó Gabháin and the Board of Management who give freely of their time throughout the year. Míle buíochas daoibh go léir. Best wishes to our departing Rang 6 who will be starting Secondary school after the summer. It is with regret that we inform you of Múinteoir Máire’s retirement from teaching this summer, having spent the last 15 years of her career with us here in the Gaelscoil. During that time she taught the Junior Infants class and, in recent years, Rang 1. As you all know, Múinteoir Máire is an excellent teacher – highly competent, understanding, knowledgeable, well-organised and fair and has had a tremendous influence on all the children, parents and school staff. She was totally dedicated to her work and the children in her care were always her top priority. Between the beginning and end of the school day not a minute was wasted! All the children in her class blossomed as a result and each child made great progress under Máire’s guidance and direction. Máire was an integral part of the staff and school and she will be greatly missed in the staffroom and classroom. We thank Máire for being a wonderful teacher and friend and we wish her a long, happy and healthy life and hope that she has a very enjoyable retirement. A fond farewell also to Veronica after 15 years as a parent, committee member of CAIRDE, parent’s rep on the Board of Management and in latter years as Cúntóir Ranga for the “Thuas Staighre” after-school service for Naíonáin. We thank her for her hard work and dedication to the school. She too will be greatly missed.

The school office will be open before the children return to facilitate payment of school books and Insurance (a letter and form for Insurance will be posted in August.). Times of opening are: Dé Máirt agus Dé Céadaoin /Tuesday and Wednesday 29th & 30th August: 10 am – 2.00 pm. NB: ALL school book money and Personal Pupil Insurance money is due on or before the first day of school ie. Thursday 31st August 2017 – no late forms can be accepted as children must be insured from FIRST DAY. GRM.

Junior Infants will finish at 12.00 each day for the first weeks: 31/8 – 15/9/2017, and thereafter at 1.30pm.

Tabhair faoi deara go gceannóidh an scoil na leabhair agus cóipleabhair ar fad – cuir an mór iomlán chuig an scoil ag tús na scoilbhliana nua. Tá breis eolais le feiceáil ar shuíomh idirlín na scoile (www.cnocnare.net). Scaipfear na leabhair ar na páistí ar an gcéad lá ar ais agus is ga go níocfar astu faoin lá seo. Tabharfaidh tú faoi deara go bhfuil ciseán luaite ar chuid de na leabharliostaí, a úsáidfear sna ranganna chun leabhair srl. a fhágáil go néata ar scoil.
Information on the booklist for your child(ren) is enclosed and displays the cost as well as items you will need to buy yourself listed by class. Please note that the school buys all books and copybooks – please return the total due when school reopens. Full details of the books and costings are on the school website (www.cnocnare.net) All items should be individually marked with children’s names, particularly Junior Infants. Books will be distributed on the first day back and should be paid for then. You will also notice that some children are required to have a basket. These are to enable the children to neatly store books that are left in school.

Due to a reduction in the number of children starting in September, there will be only one Junior Infant class next year. Múinteoir Lynne will be their class teacher, supported by Múinteoir Katríona for AISTEAR activities. Classes will be divided as follows for the new school year. The school handles all books. Books that can be re-used from year to year are rented at one-third of the new price, while the cost of workbooks to parents is approx. 10% less than by directly purchasing them yourself.
